I’d have posted more today, but my motivation is hovering around 0. Apologies.

As for this show, the manga is significantly better. Just read that instead of watching the anime.

Karaoke.

Opening. Ugh, what the fuck were they thinking?

Ending. This was also pretty bad. Why use the default script in your karaoke?

Typesetting.

Excellent color-matching.

Great title translation.

Doesn’t anyone QC this shit? Come on.

Other.

That fucking font. So shit.

Script Quality

Karaoke.

The karaoke scripts were just fine. Maybe the ED could have handled the “et cetera” part better, but whatever.

Main Script.

What? I don’t think it’s all that important to TL Note “clean-up duty”.

“Clean-up duty sure takes more time than I thought it would.” or something like that.

“mouth-to-mouth” is used as an adjective, so use “mouth to mouth” in both cases here. Also, I hate double question marks. Use ?! instead.

Redundant. “I did just as you said and licked this last night.”

“Ogata-kun is in our class, right?”

What’s what you’re thinking? This doesn’t make sense.

“I’ll admit, she is shrouded in mystery. The accent highlights the natural way to phrase the sentence. Leaving it out leads to an awkward read.

This is all one sentence.

“Tsubaki-kun,”

“open your mouth.”

panties is plural.

“That’s” -> “Those are…”

She’s referring to her scissors. So use “them” instead of “it”. This would be right if she were talking about “a pair of scissors” but that wouldn’t fit as well in the sentence.

“That’s right, I don’t have my scissors [them] with me today.” {Good}

vs.

That’s right, I don’t have my pair of scissors [it] with me today.” {Bad}

Timing Review

Incoming. When “Timing Critique” is added as a category, you’ll know this part is done.

Results.

Watchability: Watchable.

Timing Grade:

Visual grade: C-

Script grade: B-

Overall grade (timing results not factored in): C+

Well, it wasn’t a fantastic release, but I was pleasantly surprised by the script. It was still rather stiff for a translation effort, but it was generally quite competent.
