Looks like I’ll be stuck in Milwaukee for a while. Anything to do in the city other than downing bottles of Zoloft with a handle of vodka?

The only things they typeset were what Crunchyroll did. Guess it’s too much to expect them to find a TL for all these difficult signs.

Other.

[FFF] Nisekoi - 05 [5BC26FA9].mkv_snapshot_24.16_[2014.02.14_23.13.14]

End image included. I think there’s a term for these, but Google’s really not helping me with it right now.

Script Review

Main Script.

[FFF] Nisekoi - 05 [5BC26FA9].mkv_snapshot_04.27_[2014.02.18_18.49.36] [FFF] Nisekoi - 05 [5BC26FA9].mkv_snapshot_04.30_[2014.02.18_18.49.47] [FFF] Nisekoi - 05 [5BC26FA9].mkv_snapshot_04.35_[2014.02.18_18.49.56]

I’d -> I’ll

[FFF] Nisekoi - 05 [5BC26FA9].mkv_snapshot_05.49_[2014.02.14_22.16.00]

Even if “boys” were an acceptable term for their gangster peons (it isn’t), the “pranksters” were only from MC-kun’s gang.

Actually watching the episodes you sub might be helpful in the future.

[FFF] Nisekoi - 05 [5BC26FA9].mkv_snapshot_08.39_[2014.02.14_22.30.16]

Surely, you could, get by, with, fewer, commas.

[FFF] Nisekoi - 05 [5BC26FA9].mkv_snapshot_09.46_[2014.02.14_22.49.16]

You seem a little confused on how to end a sentence

[FFF] Nisekoi - 05 [5BC26FA9].mkv_snapshot_14.00_[2014.02.18_21.33.14]

“Oh, wait!” already gets across what “Or” would. Drop one of them.

[FFF] Nisekoi - 05 [5BC26FA9].mkv_snapshot_14.30_[2014.02.14_22.59.28]

I’m not sure whether you need a kick to the head or if you’ve had far too many already.

[FFF] Nisekoi - 05 [5BC26FA9].mkv_snapshot_20.17_[2014.02.18_23.21.57]

“but she’s also a bit… fleshy, you could say?” Get the proper pronunciation across.

Even with a halfhearted effort, this release was still a tier above EveTaku and Commie’s releases. Go with FFF for your shitty romcom fix.

The term you’re looking for is “end card”.

  2. Sorry to nitpick (I do it so well; I can’t help it!) but the “nor” usage is *technically* correct, because “nor” is used with the negative, not necessarily just in the “neither” construct. I do agree that it’s a bit unwieldy as it is (it would sound better with a definite article after it) but it’s not wrong. And I think the use of “or” in these situations is mostly our collective laziness with spoken language :D

That and it does make you sound a bit like a pompous Victorian gentleman.

  3. Unfolding is something you can hear: the sound of unfolding a newspaper, extending a television antenna, spreading out a piece of cloth.

That’s literally what she says. Their retarded lyrics, not mine.

Someone has to go and report back, and I’m sure as hell not making the hour and a half drive out there just because of some chatter on IRC.

      • Actually, hold on. Those hours are terrible.

        Mon – Wed: 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
        Thu – Fri: 11:00 am – 3:00 am
        Sat: 5:00 pm – 3:00 am
        Sun: Closed

I’ll still be in the office when they close M-W, and I generally fly out Thursdays. (like most business travelers). Is this business designed to fail or something?

  5. I always wondered, what’s up with commas being inside the quotation marks that clearly belong outside? (Like in the pictures for the typesetting) It always makes me stumble while reading, expecting the quotation to continue. You don’t point it out, so is this actually correct?

    • To add onto what Anon said, punctuation inside quotes is an American English thing. That’s how we’re taught what “good English” is. But logically, I find it quite flawed (as would anyone studied in English), so I use the British English method, which is keeping all unrelated grammar to a quote outside of the quotation marks.

But while I dislike it, it’s technically correct, and I’m not gonna mark groups down for going that route.

Looks like you finally grew out of that “it’s not what I would do, so it’s wrong” attitude?
