Thankfully, U-C have taken it upon themselves to take a quick break from not subbing Maria+Holic in order to sub Kaiji.
Expect me to post tons of content tomorrow when I finally have a bit of free time. Not just fansub reviews, though there will be a good amount of them. Even I’m getting bored with teaching newfag fansubbers how to English.
You know, sometimes my opinion isn’t enough. But how about some objectivity? In this post, I compare each group’s translations. Four groups. Which has the worst translation? Well, I think that’s gonna be pretty obvious, but the call’s up to you.
Awww, man. Denpa’s being subbed by newfags, one and all. The editing in this is slightly better, but I put money on these being guesslations. You’ll see why I think that in a future post. For now, let’s make fun of their editors! This is what happens when Commie doesn’t edit from nearly-perfect Crunchyroll scripts.
Sorry to ILMNW or w/e the group’s name is. I was wrong for knocking you about the title translations. Apparently they’re just terrible Engrish.
Okay, how the fuck am I supposed to review releases that did well? This is a good release. What more needs to be said?
U-C’s version improves the already excellent script that Crunchyroll had by adding karaoke and fixing lines that had errors (nearly everything I pointed out was fixed).
So I got quite a bit of heat in some channels for not pointing out how different Doki’s translations of Nichijou were from Commie’s translations. Where there are differences this large, they deserve to be seen. As an editor, I can only competently speak about English quality, but I decided to post a side-by-side of the translations for Nichijou.
