As with all CR edits, this will be judged on a pass/fail basis since there’s no point re-reviewing scripts based off what Crunchyroll did. If they don’t insert mistakes into the scripts, they pass; if they improve the script, they pass with flying colors; if they add mistakes, they fail.

OP. I don’t know how they achieved it, but they managed to create the most visually appealing and most unreadable OP kara in recent memory. I should take off a point just for the fact that I was forced to pause the video every other line. Otherwise, it’s good.

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_22.48_[2014.07.19_21.57.17]

ED. Kind of wish they added the word “warmth” here, but it’s also good, no complaints.

Main Script.

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_05.56_[2014.07.19_21.00.14]

It was supposed to be “And if we could go get some tea…” Plus the boob shot was completely deliberate.

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_06.05_[2014.07.19_21.02.27]

They didn’t use “IRL”? I’m disappoint.

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_06.27_[2014.07.19_21.03.31]

Since he said the present/future verb konai I’d like to say this line should be, “You guys will neither get a girl nor a life for years to come,” but then again these types of verbs do sometimes act like past-tense verbs.

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_06.50_[2014.07.19_21.04.24]

The guy said “six” too.

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_07.13_[2014.07.19_21.07.59]

What the hell is a “physical gun”? Does that mean a gun that can fire live bullets (jitsudan juu)?

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_09.19_[2014.07.19_21.13.11]

She also said “speed.” And the butt shot was also completely deliberate.

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_13.46_[2014.07.19_21.21.36]

Good thing they didn’t add the homoerotic word “macho” like what was said in the original line.

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_14.02_[2014.07.19_21.23.18]

They actually translated the name “Arashi” for some reason.

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_14.39_[2014.07.19_21.29.16]

As opposed to just, “Then die!” which I approve.

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_20.28_[2014.07.19_21.35.52]

Nope.  Chesuto is a battle cry or rallying cry from the Kagoshima region. I’ve seen some places where they say it’s a slurring of the phrase tsuyoku iku zo (“go strongly”).

Other Observations

[Commie] Sword Art Online II - 02 [2236A842].mkv_snapshot_14.44_[2014.07.19_21.29.37]

Commie, masters of characterization.

Final Grade: Pass

So they finally followed CR’s lead and switched from “Shinon” to “Sinon.” Since they didn’t do too much freelancing with the script, which was already good enough to begin with imo, you won’t go wrong going with this release.

Non-negative wap level on a Commie release? Nah, it can’t be

That is a glorious glorious orgy of typesetting.

Googol says:

I need some enlightenment. I never really bothered ask until now, what do you mean by “Wap Level” in all these reviews?

slackzy says:

It’s an abbreviation for ‘Wapanese’.

alLQY says:

Pretty sure that refers to whether or not they use honorifics and the like, otherwise things that you would/wouldn’t see in the West vs. Japan.

Lemon jr. says:

wtf? “You’re pathetic!” and “Then die!” those lines are completely different lines. What was she actually saying, what do her words translate to in english?

Anonman says:
Togame explained it beautifully in a Katanagatari episode, I don’t remember wich one exactly.
