      • Fansubs are a dying breed. Crunchyroll destroyed many groups, and those that remained have been destroyed by a few groups that speedsub 10+ shows a season.

          • Just off the top of my head, I can only count two groups subbing more than one show this season: Commie (ha) and Kaylith. Maybe A-K if they’re gonna do S2 for Chaika.

          • Yeah, not this season. Talking about seasons past. Groups aren’t dying this season – they have already died in past seasons. What you’re seeing this season is the result of the decline of fansubbing.

        • Why/how were groups “destroyed” by other groups? Are you saying people only sub for download count and when they can’t get downloads because another group releases first, they just don’t bother?

  6. Can you review Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete first? There is only funi and a weird joint subbing it, so I’m not actually sure since the joint has censorship and funi not, but funi is…

        • The fact you had to check tells us you’re paranoid about competition. Do you doubt your own subs so much? Are you really that shit?

            • Right. Except is isn’t a new group, they have other releases on Nyaa.
              Just admit you’re looking for imperfections to justify awarding yourself Blue and we can move on.

              • I can’t award myself blue; someone else on staff has to do it. Besides, it isn’t awarded until ep 2. Based on what I’ve seen so far, I think my subtitles are by far the best, but hey, you never know. Many of the changes by [P] are in fact improvements, and they (partially) fixed at least one really terrible Funi TL mistake, but they didn’t change much and the base Funi script is incredibly poor, so I’m not really holding my breath.

                The previous releases by [P] were an unoffical BD batch, an attempt at an original translation of an ONA, and a host of song-spliced remakes.

                Do you think fairies flag those remakes red? Someone has to download it at least once and check whats going on.

                I regret posting a comparison I made for staff purposes. I should have known better than to assume people would for once show restraint and common sense.

                    • I dunno. Your choices are Funi with TL errors and amazing editing or an original TL by an established translator who wishes to convey the humor and awesome-ness of twintails. I guess it’s up to you what you prefer.

    Or… Are you just stating it’s an edit of X release?

    • I figured I’d start to list HorribleSubs releases when relevant, so I switched up the formatting. Should be pretty intuitive; I list out which releases are disqualified for each show.

  25. Considering that Jing is editing Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso for Commie from episode 4, shouldn’t you reconsider the disqualification?

    I don’t get it. CR edits are disqualified now? So you’re only reviewing original TLs? And as far as I know, UTW did heavy TLCs on CR’s script and fixed a bunch of errors.
