The review queue is generally legit, unless I’m *clearly* making a joke about something. In this case, my Shokugeki review is pretty far along. I have the screens, and I have the bulk of the content written… it’s just that I need to fill in the commentary for ~10 lines. And right now, I’m not in a very writerly mood (AniMinneapolis was draining in the worst way). I anticipate tomorrow will be better.

Serious response: I’m really disgusted with their shenanigans. They’re probably producing the best subs, but they aren’t doing it fast enough to be even a little bit relevant. Probably won’t even be done in time for the first BD releases.
We’ll end up with commie subbed blu-rays ;-;

That’s what happens when you get a reputation for trolling your user base, people don’t trust you to do the job right and look elsewhere for your product.
But it’s easy to tell if a Commie release will have trollsubs or not. Just look at the type of show and the staff working on it. And more importantly half the stuff people call memes aren’t even memes in the first place. Half of it is just from autsists who think shit like translating Japanese slang into English slang is a meme.
And why wouldn’t you have at least watched an episode first then passed judgment? Really just seems like you’re the one losing out here.
If you have to do more than just looking at the group name, it’s too much to expect the leechers to do, especially as most leechers probably never even set foot near commie’s website where that information can be found.
It’s not a new thing. There was a fairly vast swathe of people who stopped watching shinsen and gg back in the day because of their tendency to put their B-teams on things, meaning you were never quite sure what quality you’d get from them from one series to the next.
Depends if you consider hamfisted lelreferences and awkward attempts at recreating the conversation patterns of people who would never give Commie devs the time of day to be memes.

The FUNi TL isn’t very accurate from what I saw. I haven’t seen Hiryuu as I don’t really watch this series.
According to our TLC, the Funi script is pretty accurate as far as the actual translation. It’s just super literal at times.
