I wrote this post sober.

T h e R a n k i n g s – P a r t 2

Started this post so hard how could I let you down?

Violet Evergarden – Awful

tl;dr: Unearned emotions the adaptation.

Manga: N/A.

Light Novel: https://dennou-translations.tumblr.com/post/159331691639/violet-evergarden-novel-index (poorly written; I wouldn’t bother)

Animation Production: Kyoto Animation

Officialsubs: Netflix

I read the fan translation and it was kinda boring, so I doubt I’ll even bother with the show. Anyone honestly interested in this?

Mitsuboshi Colors – Great

tl;dr: Ichigo Mashimaro 200%

Manga: https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/mitsuboshi_colors_ch01

Light Novel: N/A.

Animation Production: SILVER LINK.

Officialsubs: HiDive

Cute and relaxed, but not in a creepy way, Mitsuboshi Colors fulfills the original goal of slice-of-life before the genre was taken over by humorless sex criminals.

It’s funny because the adults are dismissive assholes to some cute kids who are just trying their ganbatte.

If you’re into little girls, but also not a pedophile, this is probably gonna be the only series to float your boat this season. Well, unless you’re into more than little girls, I guess.

Dedicated creepers will undoubtedly still be able to get off to it though, which is good news for the Non Non Biyori fandom. What’s projection again?

Gakuen Babysitters – Awful

tl;dr: God is dead.

Manga: http://www.mangareader.net/gakuen-babysitters/1/2

Light Novel: N/A.

Animation Production: Brain’s Base (because of course it is)

Officialsubs: Crunchyroll

Channeling the worst parts of both Katekyo Hitman Reborn and Chinese kindergartens, Gakuen Babysitters presents the best argument for abortions since child support. How the fuck an anime about a bunch of doucheboys fucking around with toddlers daily ever got greenlit is beyond me.

Everyone responsible for this thought-rot needs to take a long look in a mirror and then shoot whatever they find.

25-sai no Joshikousei – Awful

tl;dr: “It’s not rape if he’s hot and it’s Japan”

Manga/Light Novel: Even if I could find a link to the manga, I’d keep it hidden to preserve your innocence.

Animation Production: Lilix

Officialsubs: Who cares? Watching it raw will make it more tolerable.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBdH75bQfiw

Looks like more awful Comic Festa four-minute rape porn. Still, it should be an easy +1 to your MAL and a good way to drop that bloated average score of yours. Can’t let people think you’re just another faceless casual after all.

Kokkoku – Good

tl;dr: Grimdark timestop.

Manga: https://bato.to/reader#adc7ea2019f654e5

Light Novel: N/A.

Animation Production: Geno Studio

Officialsubs: Amazon Prime

If you like “quirky-yet-dark” series, Kokkoku is gonna be right up your alley. Created by someone who thought Gantz was a lot better than it actually was, this clocks in somewhere between those expectations and reality. The math doesn’t lie.

Since this is one of those series where the director might actually matter, it’s worth nothing that this is being directed by the same genius who gave us Amnesia, Sacred Seven, Galaxy Angel, and Witchblade. …and the script composition is done by the guy who handled the scripts for Dragonar Academy, Nyarlko, and Amagami SS+… all this managed by a studio only known for making that shit movie Genocidal Organ.

You know what, let’s change that “Good” score to an “Okay” and hope it’ll even manage to hit that.

Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san – Good

tl;dr: Tonari no Seki-kun, but the girl’s a memelord.

Manga: https://bato.to/reader#a1b283960a3e90b0_2

Light Novel: N/A.

Animation Production: Shin-Ei Animation

Officialsubs: Crunchyroll

I’d call this series great, but the new character art looks shit and the PV doesn’t seem to get what makes the series good, so I’m knocking it down a tier. Shame, since the manga was such a relaxing, enjoyable read.

Would this really have been so hard to ape?

Check out that batoto link if you’ve got a sec – the series gimmick is quite gratifying in spite of how overplayed it is. And flipping through the pages to find out at what point the girl vomits down the guy’s throat makes for an even better adventure than Trails in the Sky.

Ryuuou no Oshigoto! – Okay

tl;dr: March comes in like a loli.

Manga/Light Novel: Don’t have links, soz. You could buy the LN translation as a digital download I guess, but then you’d be an idiot.

Animation Production: project No.9

Officialsubs: Crunchyroll

Originally created by the guy who did Nourin, and directed by the guy who did Momokyun Sword, at least I can say this’ll be fappable.

Here’s the promotional art. Silver hair is 18, right?

Normally I’m out on lolitrash shows, but less because I’m a good person than their childish antics are so grating that I want to use the kids as punching bags.

Truer words.

Think of this as Saki, but for people with bad taste, and the target audience should be clear.

Dame x Prince Anime Caravan – Meh

tl;dr: Some princes run train on a princess.

Manga/Light Novel: N/A.

Animation Production: AX Creative | Studio Flad (This is the first production for either company)

Officialsubs: HiDive

Hey, remember when I made a big deal out of moving to Denver and then completely fucking failed at it, crawling back to Minnesota like a wounded slug, several grand poorer? Yeah, me neither.

Dame x Prince is similarly forgettable. Skip without reservation.

Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku – Good

tl;dr: Slice-of-dungeon-life.

Manga: https://bato.to/reader#c1047f66d64315b3

Light Novel: http://www.sousetsuka.com/p/blog-page_11.html

Animation Production: CONNECT | SILVER LINK.

Officialsubs: Crunchyroll

Masquerading as an anime, Death March is a comfy trip through the inoffensive and unambitious RPGs of your (presumed) childhood. Distilled, each episode is primarily concerned with the protagonist adding new girls to his harem, and trying to find out what best to feed them with his infinite wealth.

Not to spoil anything, but the answer is meat. It’s always meat.

Yet unlike similar isekai series (looking at you, Overedgelord), Death March doesn’t pretend to be something it isn’t. You will always get a peaceful, uninspired solution to whatever convoluted problem is required for the episode to justify its existence, and you will never feel terribly put off by it. What more could you want? Plot?

Miira no Kaikata – Meh

tl;dr: Who ever said that comedy has to be funny?

Manga: http://mangakakalot.com/chapter/miira_no_kaikata/chapter_1

Light Novel: N/A.

Animation Production: 8 bit

Officialsubs: Crunchyroll

This will definitely be a short. Therefore you can watch it without caring whether it’s good or not. Ain’t anime great?

Märchen Mehdchen

tl;dr: Who cares?

Manga/Light Novel: N/A.

Animation Production: Hoods Entertainment

Officialsubs: ???

Directed by the gentleman responsible for Mnemosyne, who am I kidding this is gonna be shit.

The story behind this story is basically some nobody fucko responsible for creating some of the worst series known to humanity (Mayoi Neko Overrun & Papakiki) died of Malaria or something, and when debt collectors were rummaging through his collection of used tissues and stolen socks, they found a rough manuscript that said “what if instead of having boys in Negima there were no boys”.

With Hoods being desperate for a hit, they traded some blow for this unimaginative take on whatever the fuck am I done with this post yet?
