If this show weren’t three minutes long, I’d have waited until the end of the season to review it. FML.

Review

Chitose-chan’s Days sounds fucking retarded. Why not “Chitose-chan’s Daily Life” like EveTaku had?

Also, nice border.

I actually wouldn’t use a comma here. “wild dog” has a different meaning from “dog which is wild”. Because making it “wild, evil dog” would change the meaning of the sentence here, the adjectives aren’t coordinate, so there shouldn’t be a comma between them.

Poochie should be capitalized because she just named the damn thing. Actually, I think the joke would work better if she named it “Snuggles”.

I like.

I liked the karaoke. Unfortunately there were no hearts of starfish in it. Shame.

    • Because it’s three minutes long and I don’t have to spend much time on it. My regular reviews can take up to two hours to get done. This takes much less time.

  1. CMS doesn’t release within 48 hours; they release when the episode airs on KBS about two days later. Same with EveTaku. ATX’s quality sucks too much.

Which suddenly turns the dog into an evil “Lycaon pictus”. Oh, sure, the context would clue you in, but as you previously stated your dislike for having to rely on context, we look to other solutions.

The obvious one would be to replace the comma with an “and”. Not only do kids like using “and” a lot, it also indicates that “wild” is an adjective that modifies dog rather than Chitose suddenly being faced with a dingo.

    • Using “and” suffers from the exact same problems as using a comma. The adjectives here are hierarchical, not coordinate, as Dark_Sage pointed out. “Evil” does not modify “dog” on the same level as “wild” does. Despite being able to rephrase it as the “wild and evil dog” (a crazy and mean dog), it doesn’t carry the same meaning as the “evil wild dog” (a mean undomesticated dog).

      • The problem is that wild dogs are actual things, as opposed to simply feral, which seems to be what is intended. A “wild dog” is not simply an undomesticated dog but one of a variety of canines that are only distantly related to Canis lupis familiaris. Kids that age already know what a stray is, so for maximum clarity the alternative to both comma and “and” would be to call the dog an “evil stray”.

        • I don’t think that’s an actual problem, considering the usage of “wild dogs” to refer to their feral state is a more common usage than the specific breed you mentioned. When someone talks about a wild dog, I’m going to think of a stray, not some weird canine from Africa. I do agree that using “evil stray” would have been a better choice, but I wouldn’t call this wrong if they had dropped the comma.

    • Furthermore, one can say a dog has gone wild to indicate his feral state so it can still be proper to describe a dog as wild, as Sage doesn’t seem to mind secondary or even uncommon usage of words.

Because Chitose-chan’s Days is what it says (HURR I RHYMED SOMETHING). The words in Japanese for “days” (日々) and “daily life” (日常) have different connotations as far as I know.
