[Tsundere] Toaru Kagaku no Railgun – 01 (BD)

This post was written by Calyrica. She is not Dark_Sage.

This post is an addendum to this one.

I did this review with the other three groups’ subs in mind. Therefore, I stopped taking screenshots after seven minutes, since it clearly was not going to be of better quality than what we established in the other review.

These releases use Mazui’s subs from the airing. Not sure if they were modified at all, as many of the mistakes here were also present in Elysium’s.

OP. The alpha on the secondary with the common dark blue of the border makes this nearly impossible to read.

I’d also like to make a note about punctuation in lyrics. Usually, people do not punctuate very much during songs. However, I believe that if you do include some, you might as well go all the way. Having the exclamation point and period, but no end punctuation, really looks odd.

ED. The colors do change to match the screen, but belatedly. If a line isn’t finished when the screen changes, the line will stay the same color, and the next line will reflect the color change. Lazy? Yes. Also, like the OP, nearly impossible to read.

Typesetting

Plain, but at least they didn’t Old English it up.

Missing.

Also, I’d like to note the dialogue font here. I’m not a fan of slanted apostrophes, and this is why. The single-quotes around “Academy City” look terrible because of the slant.

Seriously, this is just a copy and paste.

What was done here was done by the company. The rest was left untouched.

Even if the question is rhetorical, it still demands a question mark. The “huh” is what makes this a question.

Generally, numbers ten and under are spelled out.

She says “san-ju hachi”. I noted this in Elysium’s release, too. 38 degrees is the correct translation.

She’s not a first grader. She’s a first year in high school, which would make her a tenth grader if you go by our system.

tl;dr: This was seven minutes worth. Don’t watch it.

  1. Are there any other releases besides this one where the audio/Video quality isn’t shit? This is the only good quality rip I could find.
