Cold open.

OP was turned into an insert song. They handled it well.

ED. It’s also good, but I felt that the “I love you” in this line was shoehorned in.

Main Script.

It’s amusing how they condensed four Japanese words into one English word. It reminds me of how I used to put Golgo-13’s dialogue into as few words as possible.

[Commie] Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai. - My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute. - 16 [4F12E33F].mkv_snapshot_01.13_[2013.08.29_19.39.49]

Yurusanai = God damn you. And, yes, I approve.

I also like their take on Makabe’s freakout in this episode.

[Commie] Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai. - My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute. - 16 [4F12E33F].mkv_snapshot_04.23_[2013.08.29_19.45.34]

One instance where CR’s shit editing crept its way into Commie’s script. Recall that the club president specializes in kusoge or shitty games, so try “I may not have good taste in games,”

Yatta = “Guess that means I win”

She was about to reveal the fact that they made their chickenshit promise to each other that they’ll be a couple for only three or so months, so you need something that would better hint at that.

[Commie] Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai. - My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute. - 16 [4F12E33F].mkv_snapshot_14.51_[2013.08.29_20.04.39]

You mean “Turn a blind eye.”

They decided to go for novel quotations.

Oh, there’s not enough ink in this world, Kyousuke-kun.

Final Grade: Fail

I actually liked their script, and it could have very well been A material, but rules are rules. Unless you can convince me that “turn the other cheek” means the same thing as “overlook this,” then from where I stand they’ve committed the cardinal sin of CR-editing a line that was already correct into something that’s wrong.

  1. Not the least bit surprised here.
Just another time where Commie ripped a script, just to fuck it up with the few edits they did.
You’re better off watching the original CR script, or even better, watch EveTaku.

  2. God-fearing people that they are, Commie just quoted from the bible with that “Turn the other cheek” nonsense:
    http://biblehub.com/matthew/5-39.htm

So it was totally out of place, but when has totally out of place stuff ever stopped Commie?

Next thing we’ll know, Commie will put even more bible quotes in their subs and change their name from “Commie-Subs” to a more fitting “Bible-Subs”.

  3. “To turn the other cheek” is a common idiom. I don’t watch this show, though, so I’ll leave it to you to decide whether it’s accurate in the context.

    • Yeah, it’s quite common, so that’s why it’s surprising how horribly misused the phrase is here. Some idioms’ meanings don’t really follow from the actual words used, but this one should be pretty clear if seen once in context.

I don’t watch the show either (though I know something about the context here), but a quick look around the script indicates that the speaker doesn’t want _____ to be exposed. He’s asking for ____ to be overlooked, for someone else to “turn a blind eye” or similar. Turning the other cheek is gibberish.

    • I guess I should have added it to this post, but Kyousuke actually says 見逃せ. I’m already having a hard time thinking of any situation where “turn the other cheek” would apply to that word, and in this case you can’t even call it a stretch as far as I’m concerned.

  4. Question

do you going to review Loliballers sub version of TLRD OVA3?

you reviewed shi0n and ZenSub so far but didn’t review Loliballers

  5. Since we’re in full-on suggestion mode:
How about the Minami-ke OVA? So far it’s Chihiro and UTW who threw their hat in the ring.

Regular shows that might still be “interesting” (as in not just being a bunch of CR edits. The list of actually interesting shows would be a lot shorter. :p) are Neptunia, RKB, C3, Kiniro Mosaic, and DxD, by the way.
